The incident occurred at approximately 4:12 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015.
Where:
The incident occurred near the intersection of 47th Avenue North and 80th Street North, in unincorporated St. Petersburg.
Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/ Homicide Unit are investigating the death of an off-duty St. Petersburg Police Officer.
According to detectives, deputies responded to a private residence in unincorporated St. Petersburg regarding a verbal argument between off-duty St. Petersburg Police Officer, Ryan Clark, and his live-in girlfriend, Mary Arrowood.
When deputies arrived, Arrowood reported having a verbal argument with her boyfriend, Ryan Clark. Clark had left the residence on foot prior to deputies’ arrival.
Deputies circulated the immediate area and found Clark deceased near the intersection of 47th Avenue N. and 80th Street N., with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Clark was found to be in possession of his department issued firearm.
Detectives indicate that the death does not appear suspicious in nature, however; they are still awaiting the final autopsy report from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The investigation continues.
