MAIT Investigates Vehicle Versus Deputy Crash in Seminole (26-033)

SEMINOLE – Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a vehicle versus deputy crash in Seminole.

According to investigators, on April 2, 2026, at approximately 9:45 P.M., 37-year-old Shaira Wester was traveling northbound on 104th Street in a 2010 Ford Fusion. As she approached 106th Terrace, Wester stated a vehicle in the southbound lane appeared to have its high beams activated which hindered her view of 37-year-old Deputy Jason Anderson who was at the edge of the roadway for an unrelated call for service. When Wester proceeded northbound, the front passenger-side fender of her vehicle struck Deputy Anderson causing him to be thrown to the ground.

Deputy Anderson was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he remains in stable condition with two skull fractures, fractured wrist, and lacerations to his face. Wester was not injured.

Wester remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment or speed do not appear to be a factor and there will be no charges at this time.

The investigation continues.
