Detectives Investigate Inmate Death; Does Not Appear Suspicious in Nature (26-080)

PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Robbery & Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 62-year-old Brian Carl Cramer.


Detectives say Cramer was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on August 17, 2026, for a Violation of Parole for Sexual Battery, by the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole.


According to detectives, Cramer experienced a medical event on September 8, 2026, at approximately 8:05 p.m. and was found unresponsive in his cell.


Deputies and jail medical staff performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived and transported Cramer to a local hospital. Cramer remained in the hospital and was pronounced deceased on September 15, 2026, at 1:43 p.m.


At this point in the investigation, detectives found no evidence that Cramer sustained any injuries which may have contributed to his death while incarcerated at the jail.


Cramer’s next of kin has been notified.


The investigation continues.
