***UPDATE – Deputies Make Arrest in Gulfport Hit and Run***MAIT Investigates Hit and Run in Gulfport (25-142)

Gulfport – Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) have made an arrest on the Gulfport hit and run from November 28, 2025.


Through various investigative techniques, deputies identified the suspect vehicle to be a red 1997 Ford Econoline van, registered to 77-year-old Eugenijus Sviderskas.


According to investigators, Sviderskas admitted to driving the van, hearing a loud thud, but did not stop the vehicle.


Sviderskas has been charged with two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Serious Bodily Injury and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence. 


Both victims remain in the hospital. Kristen is in stable condition and Michael is critical but stable condition.

Gulfport - Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a hit and run with serious injuries in Gulfport.


According to investigators, on November 28, 2025, at approximately 7:21pm, multiple 911 calls were received for two people lying in the road at the intersection of Gulfport Boulevard and Luana Lane South. Responding Gulfport Police Officers and Gulfport Fire Rescue personnel responded and discovered two subjects riding an electric scooter lying in the roadway.


The investigation revealed 61-year-old Michael Lynch and 42-year-old Kristen Lynch were riding an electric scooter eastbound on Gulfport Boulevard in the curb lane when it appears they were struck from behind by a vehicle which continued eastbound.


The vehicle is reported to be an older model SUV with heavy front-end damage and the rear driver’s side window appeared triangular-shaped.


Both Michael and Kristen were transported to the hospital and are in critical condition.
